Music matters. Across decades and centuries, music is one of the rare things that transcend through time and space. Árstíðir, an Icelandic indie-folk group walked into a resonant space in a train station of Wuppertal, Germany, and started singing Þorkell Sigurbjörnsson’s adaptation of ‘Heyr himna smiður’, a hymn written in 1208.
This music-making moment has been viewed more than five million times, you may as well watch their performance here.
Árstíðir is among The Year’s Most Exceptional Artists & Releases Honored Online In The 18th annual Independent Music Awards, where their single "Entangled" was awarded Music Video of the Year in the category for Best Narrative.
